Velven D. Clarke

U.S. Veteran

Jetmore – Velven D. Clarke, 74, died, Tuesday March 6, 2012 at his home in Jetmore.

He was born May 30, 1937 at Densmore, Kansas, the son of Laurence and Pearl Pierce Clarke. He was a Ret. Heavy Equipment operator for Hodgeman County. He served in the US Navy.

He was a member of the Gold Wing Roadriders Association, Gold Wing Touring Association, Life member of the American Motorcyclist Association, and a Former Jetmore Business owner.

On May 30, 1958 he married Joanne Babin at Boston Massachusetts, she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons Daniel, and wife Sheryll, Mount Hope; Kelly, Jetmore; one daughter Bonny and husband Terry, Kingsdown; two brothers, Joseph, Hoisington; Laurence Herbert, Hill City; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy Page, Danielle Dulin, Jennifer Campbell, Joseph Ryan Clarke-Lomas, Jeron Barhan, Lynzie Clarke, Serra Clarke, 3 great grandchildren, J’Den, Landon, Gracie.

He was preceded in death by one son, Michael, and one sister Beatrice Clarke.

Funeral will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with the Rev. Mark Durham presiding. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore with Military Graveside Rights.

Memorials may be sent to the Lymphoma Leukemia Association, or Hodgeman County EMS, in care of the Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
