Elaine M. Mull

Pawnee Rock- Elaine M. Mull, 63 passed away February 3, 2014 in Bellevue, TN.

She was born in Great Bend, KS the daughter of Loren and Nadine Johnson Amerine. A lifetime area resident of Great Bend and Pawnee Rock, she was the Lord’s servant.

As a young girl and teenager, Elaine was a Brownie and Girl Scout, and was active in her church. In July 1971 she married Glenn A. Mull in Great Bend, KS, and soon they moved to Pawnee Rock to begin their life on the farm and raise their family.

Elaine was happiest making sure everyone around her was happy. “The more the merrier” was her favorite phrase… from family dinners, to pool parties, to spur-of-the-moment trips to the Kansas Cosmosphere or zoos. Elaine especially loved adventures with her grandkids and their friends and would have taken them to the end of the world and back to see a show, museum, fair or exhibit. She would go to great lengths to ensure that the day was filled with fun and adventure. She enjoyed being their school taxi and summertime chauffeur to pools and waterparks.

With a true heart for service, Elaine volunteered in numerous community, charitable and church-related capacities, including church pianist and worship team leader, bible study leader, membership of the Fort Larned Historical Society, Larned Hospital Auxiliary, Modern Homemakers FCE , Santa Fe Trail Center, Larned Music Club, Larned Garden Club, Mentor program –Apples of Gold, 4-H and Girl Scouts Leader, K-State Foundation Trustee, organizer of the Easter pageant at the Rock in Pawnee Rock, and a Picture Lady at the Larned grade schools. Elaine also served as the Pawnee County Fair superintendent in Reading, Notebooks, Posters, Displays, and Home Environment for several years and County-wide 4-H project leader in Wildlife.

Survivors include: a daughter, Jennifer Ladwig (Walter), London, England; a son, John Mull (Kristy) Larned, three brothers, Marvin Amerine, Lake Jackson, TX, Glen Amerine, Great Bend, and Clyde Amerine, Conway Springs, KS; father-in-law, Keith Mull, Larned; sister-in-law, Jeanine Haynes (Brad), Salina, son-in-law, Doug Harter, Pawnee Rock and four grandchildren, Chase Harter, Ava Mull, Walter Ladwig IV and Gabriel Mull.

She left for Heaven with her husband Glenn Mull, daughter, Amy C. Harter and her granddaughter, Samantha C. Harter, and was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kent Amerine.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Assembly Of God Church, 601 Patton, Great Bend, Kansas with Pastors Roy Savage and Jay Beuoy presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned.
