Hanston – Agnes Marie Burkhart, 97, died August 13, 2007, at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.
She was born August 4, 1910, at Offerle, the daughter of Adam and Katie Urban Stegman. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and a school cook.
She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Altar Society, Senior Center, all of Hanston.
On June 2, 1931, she married Jerome Fred Burkhart at Offerle. He died December 13, 1981.
Survivors include: two sons, Norbert Burkhart, Hanston and Jerald Burkhart, Port Orange, Florida; one sister, Leone Lampe, Kinsley; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Dean; a daughter, Delores Elaine; five sisters, Lena Herman, Barbara Stegman, Veronica Burkhart, Emma Loible, Frances Struthers; four brothers, Ed Stegman, George Stegman, John Stegman, Sylvester Stegman and one granddaughter, Deborah Morrell.
Vigil will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Hanston. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with Father Ted Stoecklein presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8p.m. Tuesday, and 9a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Hanston.
