Alberta Darlene Burkhart 91, passed away December 4, 2024 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend.

She was born March 12, 1933, in Hodgeman County to Albert and Ruth (Salmans) Hubin.

She graduated from Hanston High School in 1951 and Hutchinson Nursing School in 1954.  She married Norbert Burkhart on June 6, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Hanston.  Darlene loved being a farmer's wife, mom, grandma and great grandma.  She was a compassionate nurse who served all those in need of medical care for forty years.

She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church, Hanston, V.F.W. Auxiliary, The Gideon's Auxiliary and the Kansas State Nurses Association.

Darlene loved her Savior Jesus Christ from an early age and spent her life sharing his love with family and friends.  She and Norbert were blessed with musical talent and used those talents to comfort many families through their time of grief.

Survivors include; her three children, Connie (Kevin) White, Medicine Lodge, Dave (Tami) Burkhart, Burdett and Barry (Jo Lynn) Burkhart, Bison; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, C.A. Powell; husband, Norbert Burkhart; three brothers, Paul L. Hubin, Lynn Hubin, Neldon Hubin and a sister, Shirley Kay Hubin.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Faith Fellowship Church, Hanston with Pastor Doug Ellison presiding.  Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.  Burial will be in Hanston Cemetery, Hanston.
