Jetmore – Alberta N. Rice, 102, died January 30, 2009, at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.
She was born July 3, 1906, at Linnwood, Kansas, the daughter of George and Clara Sparks Stewart. She was a homemaker and a longtime area resident.
She attended the Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Red Hats and E.H.U., all of Jetmore.
She married Perry P. Rice. He died October 19, 1996.
Survivors include: Four daughters, Lucille Stephenson, Portsmouth, Virginia, Joan Gilmore, Jetmore, Janet Jones and Patti Avila, Garden City; Two sons, Johnny Rice, Hutchinson, George Rice, Garden City; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Belle Ryan; two brothers, Elmer and Claude Stewart; sister, Hazel Ankron; one granddaughter and two great grandsons.
Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore, with Rev. Marvin Ewertt presiding. Friends may call from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Sunday and Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Memorials may be sent to the Hodgeman County EMS in care of the funeral home.
