Pawnee Rock – Alta Elizabeth Kasselman, 86, passed away September 19, 2025 at Hays Medical Center.

She was born June 17, 1939 in Caldwell, Idaho, the daughter of Owen A. and Ruby Smith Janes.

A longtime area resident, she was of the Christian faith. She was an LMHT II at Larned State Hospital, working there for over 32 years.

On June 23, 1962 she married E. Keith Kasselman at Larned. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2017.

Survivors include: three daughters, Shonna Anderson, Attica, Kansas, Helen, Kasselman, Hays, Kansas, Lanette Hadesty, Great Bend, Kansas; brother, Paul Janes, Caldwell, Idaho; two sisters, Victoria Craft, Miami, Oklahoma, Debra Janes, Nampa, Idaho; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Anthony Kasselman; two brother, Owen A. Janes and James Janes; and two grandsons.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Private family inurnment will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock, Kansas.
