Alvin J. Scherzer's Obituary
Larned- Alvin J. Scherzer, died April 3, 2009 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.
He was born October 14, 1918 at Larned, the son of Charles Adolph and Mary Heaton Scherzer. A lifetime Pawnee County resident, he was a farmer. For the past several years he had spent his winters in south Texas and Florida and his summer on his farm in Larned.
Jake was a private man who enjoyed fishing, horseshoes, giving advice about farming and home cooked meals.
Survivors include: a nephew, Chales Eugene Scherzer and wife Jennifer Marie, Tomboll, Texas; and a niece, Mary Margaret Rebresh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Eugene Scherzer.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, with Rev. Bill Fritzgerrel presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Inc., Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
