Obituary

Amil A. Hanson, 95, passed away September 25, 2011 at the Larned Healthcare Center.

He was born April 18, 1916 in rural Pawnee County. The son of Axel and Mae Nelson Hanson; a lifetime area resident he was a farmer/stockman.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, he sat on the Pawnee County COOP board, a member of the Fort Larned Historical Society, a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge of Great Bend, a trustee of the Walnut County Township, a member of the Pawnee County 4-H Foundation board and also a 4-H leader.

On October 1, 1950 he married Berniece M. Nuttelman at Great Bend; she survives.

Other survivors include; a son, Lynn Hanson and wife Tama, Pawnee Rock; a daughter Mary Jane Lauer and husband Rod, Canton, three grandchildren, Kylie Hanson, Pawnee Rock, Brooks Hanson, Pawnee Rock and Casey Lauer, Studio City, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; one brother, Glen Hanson and two sisters, Freda Still and Bernice Kirkpatrick.

Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend with Pastor James Strasen presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with family present from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Pawnee County 4-H Foundation or the Trinity Lutheran Church, both in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
