Hanston- Benjamin (Ben) Ayres Lightfoot, 83, passed away December 27, 2017 at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore, KS.

He was born September 13, 1934 in Kansas City, MO the son of Benjamin and Naomi Ayres Lightfoot. A longtime area resident, he was an editor and printer in his early years and after passing his bar in 1972, he became an attorney.

He was a member of the United States Army; he enjoyed printing, checking the news and music. He was also fluent in three languages. He loved his family and grandchildren and had a very good outlook on life.

On January 30th 1960, he married Sue Holman in Burlington, KS. She survives.

Survivors include: one daughter, Shelly (Phillip) Tubbs Kirkendall, Crosbyton, TX.; one son, Barry (Mary) Lightfoot, Pawnee Rock, KS.; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Jessica, Kim, Chris, Melanie, Bradley, Haley and ten great grandchildren.

Ben has donated his body for science to KU Medical Center, as his mother did. Cremation will take place with a private family service held at a later date.
