Betty Louise Fyler was born in Salina, Kansas on September 23, 1926 to Arthur V. Nelson and Blenda Elizabeth Nelson (Anderson). She passed on December 14, 2024 at her daughter Elizabeth's home in Fort Worth, Texas.

She grew up and attended school in Smolan, Kansas. She attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. She was a proud Swede.

On June 29, 1947 she married William J. Fyler (WJ/Bill) in Salina, Kansas. Bill died October 8, 1971 in Larned, Kansas. Betty lived most of her adult life in Larned, Kansas, moving to Fort Worth, Texas to be near her daughters in 2017.

She was a homemaker, owner of the Dairy Queen & Burgerteria, owner of The Tot To Teen children's shop for several years and then worked in a pharmacy for over 27 years and retired when she was 90.

Betty was active in many organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, LiArMu, Girl Scouts, and church groups, some of which she was chairman of. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Larned.

She is survived by four children, Elizabeth (and the late Ken) Quick of Fort Worth, Texas, Janet (John) Clarson of Fort Worth, Texas, David (Kelly) Fyler of Scott City, Kansas and Florence, Colorado, Donald (Cris) Fyler of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She had 13 grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11am at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, Kansas with Reverend Angela DeFisher presiding. Burial in Larned Cemetery.
