Larned  - Betty I. McPhail, 83, passed away October 6, 2019 in the comfort of her home with her loving family present.

She was born August 22, 1936 in Larned, the daughter of Frank and Laurine Burris Hawk.  A lifetime area resident; she worked in Housekeeping at Larned State Hospital, and is fondly remembered as a kind and cheerful person.

She was a member of Larned Assembly of God Church, she loved sewing, knitting and crocheting, she enjoyed taking swimming classes, painting, and doing ceramics to keep her mind and body active, enjoyed dancing with the cruise directors on their cruise vacation and was a Betty Boop enthusiast.

On October 5, 1957 she married Harold McPhail in Larned, Kansas.  He survives.

Other survivors include; four daughters, Jonell Branstine, Larned, Shirley (Richard) Beltz, Larned, Sandra (Steve) Turley, Hoisington, Lachel (Jimmy)  McDonald, Larned; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by; her parents.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
