Hanston – Betty E. Sebes, 71, passed away October 29, 2021 at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, Salida, CO.

She was born August 21, 1950 in Montrose, Colorado, the daughter of Floyd and Dorothy Buus Thatcher.  A long time area resident of Dodge City, KS, Betty and Melvin moved to Leadville, CO in 1992. She was a Medical Record Technician for Vail Valley Medical Center and the Leadville Hospital.

She was a member of Mountain Crest Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Leadville, CO.  Betty enjoyed quilting, riding motorcycles, gardening, hunting and camping with her family.

On April 2, 1977 she married Melvin D. Sebes in Dodge City, KS.  He survives.

Other survivors include:  son, Mark (Liz) Sebes, Penrose, CO; sister, Dorothy See, Nevada and one grandson, Oliver Sebes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob Thatcher and a sister, Diana Thatcher.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Mennonite Cemetery, Hanston, with Ronnie Ruff presiding.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
