Billie Clive Kerns' Obituary
Larned - Billie Clive Kerns, 82, passed away July 13, 2014 at the Leisure Homestead, St. John, KS.
He was born August 21, 1931 in Larned; the son of Harold and Fern Koehn Kerns. A lifetime area resident; he worked for the United State Postal Service, after retiring from the postal service he owned and operated the Kerns Variety Store.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Larned. He was a member of the American Legion in Garfield. He loved to go to auctions and go antiquing, and also loved playing cards with his friends.
He married Joyce Meckfessel, she passed away in 1998. On September 1, 2001 he married Mary Werth Kisslinger Kerns. She survives.
Other survives include; two sons, Cory Kerns, Windsor, CO and Ryan Kerns, Highland, KS; two daughters, Leesa Swenson, Golden, CO and Onjinee "Angie" Kerns, Kansas City, MO; three step-sons, Kirby Kisslinger, Kerry Kisslinger and Mark Kisslinger; a step-daughter, Kristi Newell; a brother, Lane Kerns and wife Billie, Houston, TX; six grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his son, Dallas Scott Kerns.
Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church, Larned with Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the First Christian Church or the Welcome Inn Senior Center, both in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, Ks 67550.
