Bradley Nolan Balman entered his heavenly home on April 6, 2015 while at the Hospice House of Hutchinson, Kansas.
The eldest son of Bruce and Barbara (Glunt) Balman, Brad was born in Page, Arizona on January 28, 1963.
He graduated from Pilgrim Christian High in Hutchinson, Kansas. While attending Calvary Bible College, in Kansas City, MO, he met Marlys Miller. They were married on May 28, 1983. Bradley and Marlys spent their married years on the family farm Northwest of Jetmore, KS where Brad farmed and ranched until a recent illness made those activities difficult. The Balman farm was well known for fun times on four wheelers, motorcycles, and friends were welcome any time of the day or night.
Brad's love of our country, and his deep respect for those who ensure our freedom led him to become a member of the Sons of the American Legion, and the Legion Riders. One of his favorite pastimes was to be in the company of any of the Greatest Generation Veterans. He could be seen every Memorial Day, even when illness challenged him, as part of the American Legion Armed Guard at the Fairmount Cemetery. He was also a member of the Hodgeman County Farm Bureau.
Always there with a helping hand, words of encouragement, and a joy of life, Brad's pride and joy was his ever enlarging circle of friends. He lived life to the fullest and encouraged everyone else to do the same. His battle with cancer was proof that his life was lived on his terms.
He is survived by his three sons: Jeff (Kayla), Daniel (Ashley), both of Dodge City, KS, and Matthew (Susan) of Jetmore; mother, Barbara Balman, Inman, and brother, Brian (Amy) of Wellsville; four grandchildren, Tucker, Eli, Koeyhn and Toby and his uncle, Robert (Betsy) Glunt, Ault, CO. A host of friends and other family members will miss his smile, wit and friendship.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Balman.
A memorial service is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Presbyterian Church in Jetmore, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to the Bradley N. Balman Memorial Fund in care of Betsy Glunt, 11757 Belmont Drive Ault, CO. 80610.
