Brian P. Schartz, 61, passed away on September 30, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan, Kansas.

Brian was born on December 2 ^nd , 1959, in Ellinwood, Kansas to Mark and Betty Schartz. He grew up on the family farms in Ellinwood and Cimarron, Kansas. He graduated from Cimarron High School in 1977.

Brian was a hard worker and was engaged in farming his entire life. He loved taking his grandkids on the tractor any chance he could. Brian was a friend to many and will truly be missed.

Survivors include: two daughters, Stacey McGinley, Wichita and Megan Schartz, Dodge City; two brothers, David Schartz, Garden City and Stephen (Sara) Schartz, Cimarron; four sisters, Marian Reynolds, Pittsburg, Donna Woods, Cimarron, Bernice (David) Rebein, Dodge City and Rita (Bill) Hommertzheim, Cimarron; one sister-in-law, Pam Schartz, Corinth, TX; three grandchildren, Mason, Alyjah and Austin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by: his parents, one brother, Carl Schartz, and one brother-in-law, Rusty Woods.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with a Vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Belpre Catholic Cemetery following the service.
