Obituary

Olathe, Kansas - Carl Larkin Jr., 87 years young, our dear father passed on to eternal peace on December 3O,2O14.

Carl Jr. was born to Carl and Ella Larkin in Jetmore Kansas on October 28, 1927. He was the beloved "baby" brother of Edith Cohoon (deceased), Helen King (deceased) and Vernon "Buck" Larkin (deceased)

Our father Carl married Alma Jolene Crouse in 1948. He is survived by his loving children, Mike Larkin (Thelma), Dennis Larkin (Cindy), Jana Bunke (Michael) and is joining his youngest son Gary Larkin in heaven. He is also survived by eight beautiful granddaughters - Michelle, Krista, Stephanie, Amy, Mandy, Jennifer, Lenai and Alexis and three wonderful grandsons, Brian, Matt and Gary Jr. He also has eighteen great grandchildren and one great- great grandson. Dad was also preceded in death by his second wife Betty in 2004.

Dad was always a great salesman - He worked for Globe insurance upon receiving his Kansas License in 1956 - he was commended for his skills and was quickly promoted to a managerial position. ln 1966 he moved to Denver, Colorado and sold insurance for 19 years, 2 years in California and 3 years in Arizona, before retiring to Olathe Kansas, in 1980.

Our father loved people and had a way of making any story hilarious. Even nearing the end he had the doctors, nurses and family laughing with tears in their eyes. He used humor and a witty sarcasm as his shield, for all that life threw at him.

He enjoyed cars and tinkering with them, particularly his beloved Cadillac. He was a great cook and he loved food in general. The joy of food is what he missed most in his life prior to his passing. We as a family find comfort knowing that he is in heaven and enjoying the beautiful feast our Lord has prepared for him and his heavenly family.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church Jetmore with Rev. Mark Durham presiding. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.

Beckwith Funeral Home, Box 663 Jetmore, KS 67854 is in charge of arrangements.

Rest in Peace Dear Dad! Don't forget to save room for the banana cream pie!
