He was born October 12, 1934 at Larned, the son of Carrol Kneeland Beckwith and Hazel Carolyn Smith Beckwith. A lifetime Larned resident he was former owner of Beckwith Mortuary, Inc., Larned and Beckwith Funeral Home, Inc., Jetmore. He was a funeral director for 33 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Rotary Club, Country Club, Larned Bowling Association, all of Larned, Kansas Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, and the Airplane owners pilots Association.

On July 10, 1960 he married Betty Jo Crowser at Sturgis, South Dakota. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Kendall, Larned, Kyle L. and his wife Tamara, Jetmore; a daughter, Krystal and her husband Jeremy Watts, Wichita; three brothers, Keith, Great Bend, Kim M.., Larned, Kevin T., Perry; three sisters, Carolyn Murphy, Wichita, Clione Bieber, Columbus, Kathy Jo Johnson, Topeka; four grandchildren, Chaz Beckwith, Cara Beckwith, Jetmore, Victoria and Jasmine Watts, Wichita.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Rev. Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
