Obituary

Larned – Cecil Merle Rose, 82, passed away July 3, 2014 at his home in Larned. He was born May 5, 1932, in Haviland, the son of William and Elisa Smith Rose. A lifetime area resident, he was a retired Forman for the Pawnee County Road Department.
He was of the Christian faith. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W., both of Larned.
Survivors include: a son, Randy Rose, Larned; a daughter, Sherri woods, Larned; a brother, Irvin, Denver; five sisters, Lucile Yohn, Greensburg, Ellen Kendall, Overbrook, Wanita England, Kismet, Thelma Bush, Wichita, Dorine Aultman, Wetumka, OK; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Carl and Alfred and two sisters, May Yohn and Beulah Harris.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with Pastor Mark Slattery presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery with military graveside rites.
