She was born April 1, 1930 in Haviland, the daughter of Alvis Boley and Eva Clotilda Monaghan Smith. A lifetime area resident she was a homemaker.

She married Lee Hill Thorp, he died in 1970. On October 4, 1971, she married Floyd Lamar Pickering in Jetmore. He died May 16, 1996.

Survivors include; five sons, Gary L. Thorp, Great Bend, David L. Thorp, Joe J. Thorp, Tim G. Thorp, Dale D. Thorp, all of Kinsley, three daughters; Judy Donley, Terry Brokar, Candy Thorp, all of Kinsley, two step-sons; Lloyd D. Pickering, Kinsley, Lyle E. Pickering, Offerle, two brothers, John Smith, Fentress, Texas, Jim Smith, Woodward, Oklahoma, two half-brothers; Larry Hinderliter, Great Bend, Tom Hinderliter, Eldorado, twenty five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by; two brothers, Courtney Smith, Daniel Smith and a sister; Patsy Smith.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Baptist Church, Kinsley with the Rev. Aaron Kirkwood presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley.
