Wichita – Chester Lowell Reed, 96, passed away March 4, 2026 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.

He was born September 26, 1929 in Grand Island, Nebraska, the son of Earl and Laura Frazier Reed.  A longtime Jetmore resident, later moving to Wichita, where he worked at Cranmer Grass Farming Inc.

On April 10, 1970, he married Verna Marie Eichman in Buffalo, OK.  She passed away January 22, 1980.  On April 26, 2005, he married Peninnah G. Muhora in Wichita.  She survives.

Other survivors include: Son, Jason Reed, Overland Park, KS and two grandchildren, Sophie Reed and Jack Reed, of the home.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Erin Reed.

Private interment was held at the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
