Chester Junior Unruh's Obituary
Chester J. Unruh, 87 died November 20, 2010 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned,
He was born September 21, 1923 in Pawnee County; the son of Chester F. and Erma L. Flick Unruh. A lifetime area resident he was a farmer for over 40 years.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a past member of the Fort Larned Lions Club both of Larned and was the Pawnee County Republican Chairman for many years.
On January 17, 1950 he married JoAnna (Jody) Mae Folkerts at Albert. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Joe Don Unruh, Larned; two grandchildren, Tonya Jo Carpenter and husband Matthew and Justin Wayne Unruh and wife Meghan all of Archie, Missouri and seven great grandchildren, Wyatt Clay Nash, Gretchen Paige Vescogni, Eli Jo Carpenter, Taytom Unruh, Austin Carpenter, Shaun Carpenter and Zachery Carpenter.
Memorial Service conducted by the family will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church, Larned with Pastor Dennis Scheibmeier presiding. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be sent to the Chester J. Unruh Memorial Fund or the Larned EMS, both in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
