Obituary

Larned - Clair Kenneth (Kenny) Eye, 96, passed away November 30, 2017 at Country Living Memory Care, Larned.

He was born November 1, 1921 in Abilene, Kansas; the son of Bert and Emma Vinson Eye. A lifetime area resident; he was the manager of the Duckwalls and Alco stores in Larned.

He was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church, Larned Area Chamber of Commerce, Larned Golf, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Masonic Lodge and Elks. He was a volunteer fireman; served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1941-1945, he flew PBY and PBM planes and was the flight engineer - Aviation Machinist's Mate F First Class, VR2 Squadron.

On March 24, 1946 he married Wanda C. Trickle in Abilene, Kansas; she passed away July 11, 2016.

Survivors include; two sons, Tracy (Lois) Eye, and Rodney Eye, both of Larned; a daughter, Cindy (Ed) Boman, Spanaway, Washington; two sisters, Peggy (Stan) Fegter, Manhattan and Maxine (Dale) Cramer, Clay Center; ten grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; a brother, Vinson Eye.

Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Larned United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bethann Black and Pastor Nicholas Martinez presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the Larned United Methodist Church, Orphan Grain Train, Larned or Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, all in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
