Claire Marie Webster, 97 years 352 days, left this life to be with her Lord on Sunday June 3, 2007. Claire was born in eagle river, WI on June 16, 1909, to Stuart Langille and Mathilde Zick Langile.
Claire lived in Scottsdale, AZ for over 30 years with her husband, Wade, until his death. At that time she moved to Northern Wisconsin where she lived until with her sister, Madeline, to Larned to be close to family. Claire was an avid golfer, and even in later years, continued to follow the sport with great interest. She was active in Gray Ladies of Mesa, AZ, Community Hospital, Peterson health care in Rhinelander, WI and the Red Cross. She established the charter of the "sweet Adelines" in Scottsdale, AZ which went on to win the First place in the National competition that same year. Claire greatly in her Christian faith in her later years, and she belonged to the United Methodist Church in Rhinelander, WI, and the First Christian Church in Larned, KS.
As one of seven children, Claire was the next to the youngest. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Helen, Lilian Madeline and her brother John, two infant brothers and her husband Wade Webster. Her daughter Dorene also preceded her, dying from cancer at the age of 39.
Surviving relatives are Judi Tabler of Larned, Sandra Carpenter of |Reno, NV John Huth of Bradenton, FL and Dan Huth of Jasper, GA along with their families.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 7, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Beckwith Mortuary Larned, Kansas. With Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary cremation has taken place.
