Jetmore-Clarence J. Demoret, 97, died September 14, 2007 at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.
He was born September 19, 1909, in Reno County, the son of Wallie O. and Julia Henderson Demoret. He was a lifetime area resident and a farmer and stockman.
He belonged to the United Presbyterian Church, and a trustee for the township for 40 years, Jetmore, and the Moose Lodge #1187, Dodge City.
On August 3, 1932, he married Mildred Mae Orebaugh in Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Melbourn and wife Dixie, Clinton, Missouri, Larry and wife Ramona, Gene and wife Marilyn both of Jetmore; a daughter, Joan Kirchoff and husband Jim, Garden City; one sister, Opal Eichman, Jetmore; Eighteen grandchildren and fifty-four great grandchildren, and twenty-one great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillie Demoret, Isabel Pottroff and Avis Demoret; two brothers, Winfred and Harold Demoret.
Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Gail Fisher presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Monday and 9:00 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
