Pawnee Rock - Clay Steffen Schmidt, 52, died July 24, 2012 at his home, Pawnee Rock.
He was born June 14, 1960 in Larned; the son of Jarold and Ruth Petersen Schmidt. A lifetime area resident, he sold auto parts at Carquest.
He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Albert; AMA, and the M.A.C.K. flying club.
On March 26, 1983 he married Crystal Davidson at Larned. She survives.
Other survivors include; his parents; two sons; Scott and wife Joy, Larned and Nick, Independence, MO; three brothers; Todd, Fort Scott, Curt, Larned and Trent, Tulsa, OK.
Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Pastor Patricia Reep presiding. A Prayer service will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
Memorials may be given to the Hospice Care of Kansas or the Peace Lutheran Church both in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
