Courtney Dawn Towery-Thorne, 28, passed away June 17, 2022 in Larned, KS.  She was born April 28, 1994 in Great Bend, KS the daughter of Scott and Sheila VanBuskirk Towery. A lifetime area resident she was a child care professional and loved teaching "littles."

She was a member of First Christian Church, Larned.  Courtney enjoyed all animals, loved succulents and crafts and was Miss Fort Larned in 2011. She liked her farm and especially her cows, Caroline and Eclipse and her chicken, Pearl.

On May 1, 2015 she married Dakota Thorne in Larned.  He survives.

Other survivors include: father, Scott (Cheyenna) Towery, Larned; son, Kaden Thorne, Larned; brother, Cameron Bubb, New York; sister, Samantha Towery, Tulsa, OK; step-brother, Raven Bethel, Larned; grandfather, Elvin Towery, Larned, and grandmother Carol Chinn, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sheila Towery and grandmother MaryAnn Towery.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at a later date.
