Larned - Curtis L. Smith, 61, passed away April 16, 2014 at the Hays Medical Center.

He was born August 3, 1952 in Larned; the son of William Ed and Florence Dipman Smith. A lifetime area resident, he was a Mental Health Aide at the Larned State Hospital.

He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Larned.

On June 3, 1988 he married Sophia Medina. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Kristopher Smith, Larned; two daughters, Kimberly Smith and Marissa Smith, both of Larned; two brothers, Doug Smith and Gary Smith, both of Larned; a sister, Patsy Mull, Great Bend and two grandchildren, Jayden Smith and Briella Smith, both of Larned.

He was preceded in death by: a brother, Jim Smith and two sisters, Marlene Hamilton and Sara Smith.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
