Danny R. Ellis, 84, passed away May 7, 2025 at Azria Health Woodhaven in Great Bend, Kansas.

He was born September 30, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Everette Raymond and Viola Mae Boese Ellis.

A longtime area resident, he owned the Amoco Gas Station in Burdett and was an industrial engineer for Boeing. He received his pilot's license and enjoyed drag racing and farming.

On June 9, 1961 he married Becky Lee Olsen at Kinsley, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Sunni (Kris) Smyth, Scott City, and Wendi (Chad) Carr, Darby, Montana; sister-in-law, Diana Koontz, Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Reagan (Koltyn) Ratliff, Great Bend and Brandon (Airika Frey) Smyth, Hutchinson; and one great grandchild, Levi Ratliff.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Carol Patterson; and brother-in-law, Norman Koontz.

Celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 18th at Beckwith Mortuary with Pastor Irvin Jennings presiding.  There is no visitation and a private inurnment will be in the Brown's Grove Cemetery, Burdett, Kansas.
