Obituary

St. Joseph, Missouri  - Darin Lee Hinnergardt, 58, passed away March 19, 2026 at his home in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He was born December 8, 1967 in Larned, Kansas.  The son of Stanley Ben and Nadine Faye Gross Hinnergardt.  Darin grew up on the family farm, rural Burdett, lived many different places through the years, while serving with the United States Air Force and retiring to St. Joseph, Missouri in 2007, where he worked as a Safety Training Officer for Altec.

Darin was a member of the Wyatt Park Baptist Church, St. Joseph, Missouri, Gideon's International, was active in serving with the Prison Ministry program through his church and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, reading and watching movies.

On August 27, 1988 he married Teresa Johnson in Panama City, Florida.  She survives.

Other survivors include; two sons, Donovan Hinnergardt, Las Vegas, Nevada and Brandon Hinnergardt, St. Jospeh, Missouri; a daughter, Amanda (Warren) Cochran, St. Joseph, Missouri; and a brother, Shane Hinnergardt, Burdett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Stanley and Nadine Hinnergardt; grandparents, Ben and Ethel Hinnergardt and Reuben and Elaine Gross; uncles, Terry Gross, Raymond Gross, Roger Hinnergardt, Ronnie Munsch and his cousin, Emily Gross.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2026 at Valley Community Church, Burdett with Pastor Jerry Hickey and Pastor Jeff Burns presiding.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, Kansas.  Burial will be in Brown's Grove Cemetery, Burdett, Kansas with military graveside rites provided by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard and SW KS Veterans Honor Guard.
