Larned - Dayle L. McChristy, 79, passed away Feb. 27, 2018, at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned, KS.
Dayle was born March 5, 1938, in Dodge City, KS, the son of Robert E. and Dorothy G. (Brown) McChristy, Lewis, Kansas. He was a 1956 graduate of Lewis High School. He attended Fort Hays State University and Barton County Community College, receiving an associate degree. He worked for the Kansas Highway Commission, Larned State Hospital, Cross Manufacturing and Fuller Brush. He was an entrepreneur of several delivery services in Larned.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Dayle enjoyed fishing, camping, music, computer and video photography. He married Pamela Dean Harris, Phoenix, Arizona, in 1960 and they had one son, Terry Dean, before they divorced in 1960.
Survivors include two sisters, Dema (Loris) Luginsland, Americus, KS, and Cheryl (Arvin) Peterson, Tuttle, Oklahoma; one brother, Neal (SanDee) McChristy, Pittsburg, KS; four nephews, three nieces and great-nieces and grand-nephews.
Graveside burial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Wayne Cemetery east of Lewis, KS., with James Underwood conducting the service. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
