Jetmore - Dona L. Gibbs-Olsen, 89 passed away December 17, 2024 at Manor of the Plains, Dodge City, Kansas.
She was born July 18, 1935 in Glade, Kansas; the daughter of Harold J. and Violet L. Parker Seeger. A longtime Hodgeman County resident, she moved to Colorado in the early 80's and later moved back to Hodgeman County. She was a devoted Farmwife.
She was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Chester Hawkins American Legion Post #290 Auxiliary and the Howard Gotschall VFW post #1714 Auxiliary, both of Jetmore. She enjoyed playing softball and cheerleading in her younger years and loved fishing, gardening, cooking, dancing, collecting Arrowheads and old coins.
She married Harry Gibbs Jr., he passed away April 23, 1978. She later married William Sigurd "Willie" Olsen, he passed away September 12, 2022.
Survivors include; two sons, Dennis (Susan) Gibbs, Dodge City and Tim Gibbs, Jetmore; a daughter, Sandra Kinnamon, Montezuma; step-daughter, Cheryl (Bret) Reed, El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, her first husband, Harry Gibbs, her second husband, William Olsen; her infant son, Bobby Lynn Gibbs; a son-in-law, Jerry Kinnamon; a daughter-in-law, Debra Gibbs; eight brothers, Virgil Seeger, Harold Manly Seeger, Raymond Seeger, Cleo Seeger, Jessie Seeger, Delvin Seeger, Earl Duane Seeger and Larry Seeger; and three sisters, Alma Kincaid, Dorothy Nichol and Betty Pitts.
Memorial Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore; with Jason Gibbs presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Inurnment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Chester Hawkins American Legion Post #290, in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 663, Jetmore, Kansas 67854. Personal condolences may be left at www.beckwithfuneralhome.com.
