Donaciano (Don) J. Torrez, 86, of Larned, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.

Born May 24, 1939, in Larned, Kansas, the son of Silbestre and Isabelle (Reece) Torrez. Graduated from Larned High School and up to eighth-grade year, attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.

He was employed by the city of Larned, until his retirement in 2002.

Don was a member of the Larned Jaycees and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Don married Delores M. Ortega on September 16, 1958, in Larned, Kansas. She preceded him in death on October 18, 1999. He is also preceded in passing by his parents, son, Tobias Torrez; siblings, Phillip, Bobbie Duarte, Jane Devinney, Phyllis Aldrete, Jess, Manuel and grandson Kaiden Reed.

He is survived by a brother, Frank Torrez; son, Anthony (Francis) Torrez, daughters, Jayne Torrez (Sandi Edmonds), Vanessa (Travis) Reed, and Marta Hudson; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and various nieces and nephews.

Don always enjoyed visits with family and friends. He loved his grandchildren, and they hold many fond memories with him. He was an avid K-State/KU football and basketball fan and the Green Bay Packers.

Memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Patrick Otor, MSP presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Inurnment will take place at the Larned Cemetery.
