Donald William Clapham, 88, died, May 22, 2007 at his home, Larned.
He was born February 22, 1919 in Mutual, Oklahoma, the son of William A. and Ella Nora Ball Clapham. A resident of Larned since 1947, he was a retired Auto Mechanic and former Owner of Don's Motor Service of Larned.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Noon Lions Club both of Larned. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Force in the South Pacific.
On June 16, 1946 he married Esther Rolf at Ashland, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include; two sons, Bill, Larned, David, Burdett, and a daughter, Cathy Richards, Larned, a sister, Velma Buttermore, Des Moines, Iowa, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; three brothers, Guy, Milo and Wilbur, and a sister, Pauline Clapham.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, with the Pastors Dan Lundgren and John Hester presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving guests from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas with Military Honors provided by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
