Larned - Donald Clyde Gleason, 75, died January 17, 2009 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned.

He was born September 7, 1933 in Larned, the son of Ira Verne and Mable Pearl Broadbooks Gleason. A longtime area resident he was a Teacher, Coach, School Administrator and a Custom Harvester.

He was a member of the U.S. Custom Harvester Assoc; he sat on the A.D.A. Committee for the City of Larned, and was a member of the Larned Country Club, where he was also a board member.

On February 26, 1966 he married Janice Jones in Glasco, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Johnnie, daughter Donita Clawson, both of Larned, two brothers, Verne (Bud), Larned, Bob, Wichita, sister, Vergene Kugler, Wichita, and four grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Gleason and Aylice and Jocelyn Clawson

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
