Hanston – Donna Rae. Ewy, 73, died June 3, 2009, at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born September 30, 1935 in Hanston, the daughter of Thelma M. and William A. Porter. She was a schoolteacher for 37 years.
She belonged to the First Baptist Church, Sunday school teacher, a church organist and pianist, V.F.W. Auxiliary, teacher youth sponsor and the Senior Center, all of Hanston. She was a member of the K.N.E.A.
On August 3, 1956, she married Ralph Ewy in Hanston. He died February 29, 2004.
Survivors include: two sons, Roger and Tammy Ewy, Hanston Mike and wife Leslie Ewy, Coffeyville; a sister, Beverly and husband Dave Sherwood; a brother, Paul and wife Toni Porter, Andover; two sister in-laws, Verna Ridgeway, Wichita and Alice Myers, Sublette; three granddaughters, Whitney, Kirsten and Kaytlin; two grandsons, Christopher and Jacob.
Funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Hanston, with Rev. Carl Vincent and Dr. Gary Winget presiding. Visitation will be from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Burial will be at the Hanston Cemetery, Hanston.
