Doris M. Clutter, 93, died, October 14, 2011 at Midland hospice, Topeka.
She was born Feb.6 1918 at, Radium, Kansas, the daughter of Lotus and Ethyl Cromer Zink. She was a longtime Larned resident.
During World War II she worked at Boeing for two and one half years. While at Boeing she saw the first B-29 come off the line and fly. In subsequent years she worked as bookkeeper at Clutter Electric and then moved to Credit manager for the Pawnee County COOP where she applied her lifelong love of bookkeeping and related activities. She was a member of the First Methodist Church; United Methodist Woman; Li-Ar-Mu; Order of The Eastern Star, White Cross Chapter; and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Larned.
She married Arthur E. Clutter December 24, 1939 in Larned. He died November 1, 1997.
She is survived by a son; Michael and Pam Clutter, Topeka; a daughter, Janis and Len Scrogan, Boulder, CO; 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Carl Zink, Clarence Zink, and Lloyd Zink, and sister Shirley Edwards.
Graveside service will be 9:30 AM Thursday at the Larned Cemetery with Pastor Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Friends may sign the register 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary. Friends are invited to greet family members Wednesday evening from 7PM to 9PM at Glory Be, Larned.
