LARNED – Doris Geraldine Sapp, 93, died August 3, 2011 at the Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center, Salina, KS.
She was born August 17, 1917 in Larned; the daughter of Allen C. & Vena (Easley) Palmer. She was a lifetime area resident and worked as a bookkeeper for the City of Larned for 24 years.
Doris was a very active member of the First Christian Church, Sunday School teacher, Elder, member of Diaconate and volunteer for the First Christian Church Thrift Shop. Other memberships and interests include FCE, Walnut EHU, bowling, gardening, walking, music and traveling.
On May 31, 1942 she married G. Winston Sapp in Larned. He passed away October 24, 1981.
Survivors include; a son, Gary L. Sapp and wife Mary, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, two daughters; Carol Kay Claussen and husband Dale, Gypsum, and Rebecca J. Seeman and husband Mark, Salina. She also leaves grandchildren Tammy Gibson and husband Paul, Dennis Claussen and wife Michelle, Laura Christian, Angela Robidoux and husband Rick and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by; a son, Randy and a sister Thelma Irion.
The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, KS.
