Larned – Dorl Rader, 88, passed away October 7, 2015 at the Schowalter Villa, Hesston.
He was born April 8, 1927 on the family farm south of Mullinville in Kiowa County, the son of D.B. and Alma Ireland Rader. He farmed and ranched near Mullinville before moving to Larned where he retired as General Manager of Pawnee County Cooporative.
He graduated from Mullinville High School and attended Pratt Junior College. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Larned, where he served wherever needed including Lay Leader, Sunday School Teacher and various commissions.
On August 7, 1949, he married Betty Jo (Jody) Kelly in Greensburg. She passed away March 10, 2013.
Survivors include: two sons, Bill (Richelle) Rader, Lee's Summit, MO, Kim (Vicky) Rader, Scott City,; a daughter, Jody Ann (Kendall) Schwanke, Hesston; two brothers, Bryce and Lyle (Verda) both of Mullinville; a sister, Betty (Ken) Martin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Bryce Rader.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Larned, with Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville.
