Obituary

Hanston – Dorothy Belle Querbach, 94, passed away January 21, 2017 at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.

She was born November 6, 1922 in Hutchinson, KS. the daughter of Edward J. and Mary Baker Fraser. The family moved to Dodge City, KS. where she attended the public schools and graduated from Dodge City High School in 1939. She attended Dodge City Junior College and then worked at various businesses as a receptionist before her marriage to Albert E. Querbach in Coffeyville, KS. in 1943, where he was stationed for basic training in the Army Air Corp. She then joined him as he was transferred to various bases in the U.S., returning to Dodge City after his transfer to England in 1944.

After his discharge in 1946, they returned to Hanston and made the Querbach family farm their home for the next 65 years.

Dorothy became a true homemaker and was very involved in caring for her husband and growing family while Albert took care of the many farming duties. She will be remembered for her friendly smile and visits which always included family and friends both old and new.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Hanston.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert (Darlene) Querbach, Salina, KS. and Edward Querbach, Topeka, KS. and various nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Querbach on July 27, 2011 and two siblings Eleanor white and Kenneth Fraser.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30th, at the Hanston Cemetery, with Pastor Cyd Stein presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Hanston Cemetery, Hanston KS.
