Dorrace A. Dirks' Obituary
Larned – Dorrace A. Dirks, 80, died February 11, 2006, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned.
She was born May 17, 1925 at Larned, the daughter of
Adolph Lawrence and Susie Ruth Koehn Jantz. A longtime Pawnee County resident she was a Farm Wife.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the WSCS, a 4-H Leader and a Pawnee County Election Board member all of Larned. She worked at the Air Base in Great Bend during WWII.
On June 9, 1946, she married Dean D. Dirks at Larned. He died June 1, 2002.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carol Vrooman, and Husband Dennis, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Judy Dirks-Cole, and Husband Jess, Mission, Kansas; a brother, Bruce Jantz, Larned; a sister Dorothy Schurmann, Spencer, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Alison and Carson Vrooman, Tulsa, Oklahoma, two step-grandchildren Jason Cole, Kansas City, Missouri and Melissa Hogue, Gardner, Kansas, and two step Great Grandchildren, Caroline and Olivia Hogue, Gardner, Kansas.
Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Tim Ault-Duell presiding. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, and 9:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel.
Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
