Jetmore - Douglas E. Thomas, 62, died June 20, 2011, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
He was born March 4, 1949, at Dodge City, the son of Lewis Gilbert and Lucille B. Rynerson Thomas. He was a schoolteacher at Sharon Springs prior to moving to Hanston in 1976. He was a truck driver and equipment operator around the Hodgeman County area.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Jetmore and loved to socialize.
On Jan. 9, 1971, he married Judy Black in Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Clinton and wife Staci Thomas, Garden Plain; a daughter, Kendee and husband Matt Foos, Dodge City; three aunts, Betty Fakes and Louise Ambrosier, both of Jetmore, Juanita Repshire, Winona, Kansas: six grandchildren, Gaiden Blattner, Kylie Thomas, Mackenzie Foos, Jordan Thomas, Mallorie Foos, and Kamryn Thomas.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
Memorials may be sent to the Hodgeman County Health Center or Faith Steps Preschool, both of Jetmore, in care of the funeral home.
