Duaine E. Folkerts' Obituary
Larned - Duaine E. Folkerts, 76, died December 18, 2006 at Cherry Village, Great Bend.
He was born August 12, 1930 in Larned, the son of Edward and Elsa Schenk Folkerts. A Larned resident moving from Jetmore in 2002, he was a lifelong farmer/stockman and a truck driver for 36 years.
He was a member of the Peace Lutheran church, Albert and a charter member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ness City.
On May 28, 1952 he married Louise Heronemus. She survives.
Other survivors include: one son, Brian and wife Bonnie, Larned, two daughters, Dianna Price and husband Ron, Rozel and Maureen Folkerts, San Antonio, TX, brother, Alvin and wife Nancy, Dodge City and Eight grandchildren: Meryl Price, Kevin Price, Ruth Price all of Hays, Madelyn, Andrew and Matthew Folkerts, all of Larned, Jessica, and Ethan Gottschalk, San Antonio, TX.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, three sons, Richard Norman, Kevin Duaine and Keith Alan, and a sister, Adrianne Reinert.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Peace Lutheran Church, Albert, with the Pastor Robert Kreier presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery, Albert, Kansas.
