Larned - Duane Lee Walker, 76, died April 8, 2009, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born August 27, 1932 in Larned, the son of Robert Harvey and Ruth Gertie Row Walker. A native of Pawnee County, he retired from the US Navy. He enlisted during the Korean War and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Fleet Reserve.

On February 6, 1955, he married Carrol Lynn Johnson in Larned. She survives.

Other survivors include; two sons, David B., Gig Harbor, Washington, Mark L., Lusby, Maryland, one daughter, Judith Walker, Hays, two brothers; Robert Jr., Rockport, TX, Bill, Larned, a sister, Shirley Leslie, Larned, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Walker.

Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites provided by the U.S. Navy.
