Jetmore-Earl Ray Schaffer,85, passed away July 28, 2016 at Brookdale Sr. Living, Dodge City, KS.
He was born on October 13, 1930 in Spearville, the son of Andrew and Ruth Blecha Schaffer. A lifetime area resident he was a farmer/dairyman.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Jetmore. He also was on the Wright COOP Board, Farm Bureau Board and the Pleasant Hill School Board. He especially loved being with his family.
On December 9, 1951, he married Glenda Bamberger in Jetmore. She survives.
Survivors include: three daughters, Cindy (Darrell) Schneider and Peggy (Jess) Pitts, both of Jetmore, and Sandra (Dale) Hines, Spearville; a brother, Dan Schaffer, Spearville; a sister, Gertrude Koehn, Wellington; five grandchildren, Tonya (Jeremy) Schmeidler, Hays, Traci (Kyle) Jacobs, Gorham, Tera Pitts, Pueblo, CO, Heather (Josh) Bailey, Rose Hill, Travis Hines, Spearville and eight great grandchildren, Drew, Ty, Jenna, Trace, Carlee, Jaxson, Kaydence and Gunner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, John and Carl Schaffer and a sister, Irene Wade.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Cyd Stein presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
