Burdett - Earl Lee Steffen, 88, entered into eternal life January 31, 2016 at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore, Kansas.
He was born March 14, 1927 in Hanston, KS, to Walter and Ada (Lee) Steffen. He farmed his entire life in this area.
He married Winn Sanders October 6, 1956 in Great Bend, Kansas.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Burdett, Kansas.
His interests included family, farming, traveling, visiting western art galleries, was an avid reader, and a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.
Earl courageously battled heart disease and Parkinson's many years without complaint as he struggled to remain physically independent.
Survivors include; his wife of 59 years, Winn; two sons, Bradley and Kerry and one daughter Lana; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Sanders and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; a sister, Myrna Webster and a brother Dale.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Burdett with Pastor Brad McCoy presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Brown's Grove Cemetery, Burdett, Kansas.
