Larned - Ed Steinwand, 93, passed away November 21, 2017 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned, Kansas.
He was born May 20, 1924 in Garrison, North Dakota, the son of John and Christina (Altinger) Steinwand.
Ed served in the Army and worked in construction for most of his life.
Ed married Bernice Mittleider, born Sept 21 1923 in Colehargor, North Dakota. They married in Turtle Lake, North Dakota on May 6, 1944. Bernice passed April 3, 1962 in Scott City, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bernice, one daughter, Constance Diane Carman in Garden City, Kansas and twelve siblings and one great great granddaughter.
Surivors include: Significant other, Bonnie Osbourn; five children, Bonnie Miller, Silver Spring, Maryland, Timothy Steinwand, Garden City, Kansas, David Steinwand, Columbia, Missouri, Eva Barber, Garden City, Kansas, Daniel Steinwand, Gillette, Wyoming; one brother, Alex Steinwand, Garrison, North Dakota and eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be given to the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
