Larned – Edna Fern Hart, 87, died August 10, 2008, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned. She was born October 21, 1920 in Ash Valley, Kansas the daughter of Horace Geoffrey and Mary Edith Shepherd Smith. A resident of Larned since 1965 moving from Los Angles, California, she was a Psychiatric Aid at Larned State Hospital.
She was a member of the Escue Chapel, Larned where she served as a missionary, former secretary, and Sunday School Superintendent, and Eastern Star of Los Angles, California.
Survivors include: a daughter, Rose Kimble, Larned; two sisters, Ella Towns, Emma Jeanne Bradley both of Larned; three grandchildren, Michelle Kimble, Nevada, Iowa, Davonna Walker, Hope, Arkansas, Edwinna Kimble, Dodge City; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace Smith Jr., William Clayton Smith; and two sisters, Maxine Caro and Verna May Scott.
Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Escue Chapel, Larned, with Rev. Anthony Hill presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.
