Effie Estella Walker, 89, passed away July 30, 2023 at St. Jude Medical Center, Fullerton, California.

She was born February 28, 1934 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Arthur and Greeta Cox Hiatt.

A longtime area resident, she was a member of Larned Independent Baptist Church, Larned. She was a professional seamstress and ran her own business, Effie's Draperies.

On October 21, 1951 she married Billy Joe Walker at Wichita, Kansas; he preceded her in death April 8, 2005.

Survivors include: two daughters Terri Ann Greenberg, Yorba Linda, California, Sherri Lyn Bacani, Temecula, California, three sons, Billy Joe Walker Jr., Katy, Texas, Bobby James Walker, Larned, Kansas, Ricky Earl "Kansas" Walker, Lincoln, Nebraska, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by: her parents Greeta and Artur Hiatt; husband; two brothers, Jack Cody and Bob Cody; and two sisters, Charlene Reeves, Thaydene Green and Evelyn Hoover.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 at First Bible Baptist Church, Ken Gray, Pastor, Great Bend, with Pastor Randy Kuhn and Bob Walker presiding. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 in the Larned Cemetery.
