Burdett - Ernest Eugene Reece, 80, died July 20, 2007 at CKMC St. Rose Campus, Great Bend.
He was born February 11, 1927, the son of Charley A. and Viola R. Zahn Reece. He was a Farmer and Stockman, and a lifetime resident of the area.
He was a member of the Burdett United Methodist Church, Served on COOP Board, and Church Committees, all of Burdett, He belonged to the Masonic Lodge.
On January 15, 1950, he married Eloise Branine at Larned. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dennis, and wife Sue, Wichita, Les, Burdett, a daughter, Karen Hands and husband Cedric, Garden City, a brother Clyde and wife Barbara, Burdett, a sister, Dortha Chaffee, Issaquah, Washington, two sister In-Laws Mrs Roland Reece, Wichita, and Mrs. Charles Reece, Burdett, 5 grandchildren Seth Reece and wife Joy, Gardner, Ks. Scott Reece and wife Amanda, Merriam, Ks. Jeremy Hands, Colorado Springs, Angela and husband Michael Rooding, Aspen, Co. Nathan Hands, Davenport, Iowa 3 great grandchildren Caleb Reece, Brooke, and Danielle Rooding. And numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Roland, and brother In-Law Russell Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 10:00 Wednesday at the Burdett United Methodist Church, Burdett. with the Reverend Rich Zimmerman presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday & Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Browns Grove Cemetery, Burdett.
Memorials may be sent to the Burdett United Methodist Church or American Heart Association, in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P. O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
