Larned- Esthel Fern Cook, 94, passed away January 6, 2017 at the Hospice House of Reno County.
She was born January 23, 1922 in Nekoma, KS. the daughter of John and Emma Phillips Nash. A lifetime area resident of Larned, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Larned, the Home Demonstration Unit and the local neighborhood pinnacle group. She also loved helping at the Ash Valley Ground Hog Suppers and Bazaars. Her husband and she were named Pawnee County Farmers of the Year.
On July 13, 1940 in Dodge City, KS. she married John Allen Cook. He passed away August 3, 2007
Survivors include: one daughter Carolyn Hoyer, Hutchinson; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Nash, George Nash and Gene Nash; two sisters Velma Burk and Wilma Herrman and one grandson.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
